Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts for ISHL13 can be submitted between March 01 and June 16 2024 (23:59 Europe/Berlin). The Scientific Committee welcomes submissions on any topic related to basic research, diagnosis and treatment of Hodgkin Lymphoma. Each abstract will be evaluated by experts in the field with regard to methodology, scientific impact and novelty.

Instructions for authors

Abstracts reporting novel original research related to Hodgkin lymphoma - both classical Hodgkin lymphoma and NLPHL - will be accepted in the following categories:

  • Limited stages
  • Pediatric and adolescent
  • Biology and microenvironment
  • Older patients
  • Advanced stages
  • Living beyond lymphoma
  • Relapsed and refractory

Additionally, abstracts reporting Trials in Progress will be accepted for all above-listed categories, if they are registered with clinicaltrials.gov and an NCT number is available. Abstracts should be structured (e.g. Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion), should not exceed 2500 characters and may include one Figure or Table.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts can be submitted via the online abstract submission system only. The system will be open between March 01 and June 16 2024 (23:59 Europe/Berlin). Submissions received after this deadline cannot be considered.

Submission and responsibilities of the corresponding author

To submit your abstract, please use the online abstract submission system to register and have access to the template and the submission process.

The first author listed for each abstract serves as the corresponding author for all correspondence regarding the abstract, unless otherwise specified. The corresponding author is responsible for the following:

  • Approval of all co-authors on the content of the abstract and agreement to be co-authors.
  • Informing all co-authors on any changes of the abstract.
  • Notifying all co-authors of the publication of accepted abstracts in a supplement of the Journal

Notification regarding acceptance of abstracts will be sent to the corresponding author via e-mail in late July/beginning of August. Abstracts of superior quality will be selected by the Scientific Program Committee for presentation as an abstract talk at the ISHL13.

Once an abstract is submitted, a written request must be submitted no later than August 15, 2024, to abstracts@hodgkinsymposium.org if the corresponding author chooses to withdraw the abstract for any reason. Abstracts will not be withdrawn after this deadline.

Abstract Presentation Formats

The presentation format for each abstract will be determined by the Scientific Program Committee based on the quality of the submission. Potential presentation types are (1) Oral Presentation during Scientific Sessions (2) Poster Presentation during Poster Sessions. Abstracts that are not selected by the Scientific Program Committee for presentation may be chosen for publication only.

Responsibilities of the Presenting Author

The presenting author must be one of the co-authors listed on the submitted abstract but does not need to be the corresponding author. It is the responsibility of the presenting author to obtain all of the conflict-of-interest disclosures from co-authors. Presenting authors need to register for ISHL13 and are expected to present their work in person on site.

Abstract Publication

Abstracts will be published in a supplement of “HemaSphere”, the official journal of the European Hematology Association (EHA).

A number of awards will be granted to high-quality abstracts during the opening ceremony of the congress.

Submission Deadline

Abstracts can be submitted until 16. June 2024 (23:59 Europe/Berlin).

Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered.
